Outstanding cookies, but Schiphol's matcha still needs some work

Loved

  • The cinnamon and pecan cookie was genuinely excellent. Easily the highlight of this early-morning airport stop.

  • The woman serving me was lovely and happily accommodated my request for a stronger matcha without charging extra.

Didn’t Love

  • Even with the extra matcha, the taste just wasn't right. The texture lacked the smoothness and richness I usually look for, making it feel more like a generic hot matcha-flavored drink than a proper latte.

  • I managed about a third of the cup before giving up. I rarely order matcha at airports, and unfortunately this experience didn't change my mind about Schiphol's options.
